Biography

Julia Stegner was born and raised in Munich, Germany. She was discovered by Louisa von Minckwitz, founder of Louisa Models, while celebrating Oktoberfest in her hometown. Julia’s big break came in 2003, when she opened the Yves Saint Laurent show. She was then chosen to star in Yves Saint Laurent’s advertising campaign shot by Craig McDean. Just a few weeks later, Julia was photographed by Steven Meisel for two consecutive Italian Vogue covers.

Julia has appeared on the covers and in the pages of the most renowned fashion magazines including, Vogue (Italian, French, American, Japanese, and German), V, W, Numero, Harpers Bazaar, Another, French, I-D, Allure, and 10. She has worked with famed photographers such as, Mario Testino, Steven Meisel, Peter Lindbergh, Greg Kadel, Patrick Demarchelier, David Sims, Mert and Marcus, Paolo Roversi, and Terry Richardson.

She has also appeared in numerous advertising campaigns for designers such as, Escada, Chloe, Ralph Lauren, Club Monaco, Sportmax, Dolce & Gabbana, Bvlgari, H&M, Nicole Fahri, Tiffany and Co. Aquascutum, Guerlain, Rolex, Tod’s, Armani Jeans, Gianfranco Ferre. She starred in over five seasons of advertisements for Hugo Boss and the Hugo Boss fragrance, Boss. She is also a face of Maybelline and is featured in their print ads and television commercials.

Julia is a prominent figure on the world’s runways. She has walked for top designers, including Chanel, Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Christian Lacroix, J. Mendel, Fendi, Versace, Calvin Klein, Bottega Veneta, and Victoria’s Secret.

Julia, who is currently based in New York City, enjoys playing basketball in her free time and also serves as an ambassador for UNICEF.
